The colorlessness of the water (or is it just the lack of blue?) makes it look so cold, but I assume that it's not, given your location and the lack of a wet suit...
This was taken early morning on a cloudy day so the water didn't have much color. In these parts it's not aqua clear blue like further south where the Gulf Stream keeps it clean. The ocean was actually dead calm and this guy was trying to make do in tiny waves in waist deep water. I was standing on the St. Augustine Beach fishing pier when I took this shot.
