Why are the babies red?

These aren't really egret babies. The red ones are roseated spoonbills. I just thought the egret looked like it was playing mom.

Great pictures! I would love to get on a plane today and fly south! :) Love the shot of the Roseate Spoonbills. I've only seen them a couple of times in the Everglades and at Ding Darling. Gorgeous birds. I like your blog.
